Please note that unlike some manufacturers that sell receivers in black and silver and the two types are the same
price, Technomate only supply silver receivers and the black receivers are a silver receiver that is converted to
black by the dealer using a silver to black conversion kit. This kit consists of a new front panel, lid, handset
and box. The fitting of this conversion kit takes our workshop about 1/2 hour and the kits have to be bought from
Technomate. This is why a black receiver is more expensive. also note that as it takes time to do the conversion,
a black receiver will not be shipped until the day after an order is placed as technician time must be allocated.
The cost of the kit and the fitting results in an increased cost or Ł50 The good news is that we supply the
original silver handset with the new black one and since a handset normally costs Ł30, having two handsets,
(one black and one silver) makes the extra Ł50 better value.

Our tests.
Here at Satellite Superstore we do not introduce a new receiver to our product range without extensively testing
it first. Here are the results of the tests. SD and HD picture quality – excellent – as good as it gets.
Recording on the hard drive. Works like a Sky + and Sky HD in that it has many similar trick play facilities
like live pause etc. Playback of HD files in full HD – no problems – perfect recordings.
No. of channels. Linux boxes tend to be virtually unlimited. With other makes they can exceed 20,000 channels
which is 3 times the number available in the Sky on a standard motorized dish.
Menu structure – easy to use. Build quality - excellent - (See picture on the AB IPBox page)
Software support - good. Alpha numeric display on the front of receiver details channel names and menu information.
Picture in picture. (See screen shots on the AB IPBox page) Can play back MP3, picture and DIVX, (video), files from it’s
internal hard drive using the music or photo button on the handset. Files can be loaded into the internal drive
using an FTP program. It can also play back MP3 files and display pictures that are on the internal drive inside
your PC providing the PC is connected to the same network 2 cam slots and 2 card readers – the card readers can
be configured with 3rd party software but please note that we can’t support info. on 3rd part software.
This is the first HD twin tuner PVR we have seen with embedded card readers.
Web interface – control the receiver from any computer. Stream video to any computer.
Conclusion. This is the first high definition Linux twin tuner PVR we have seen and it is a first class
flagship model. Very impressed.

Buying a fully loaded (programmed)
satellite receiver for motorised use.

This service is available for any motorised dish. If you are buying a system, or just a receiver
and you already have a motorised dish, we can take the receiver out of its box and fully program
it on one of our demonstration dishes. This would mean that the new programmed receiver can be
connected up by the customer and all the satellites channels will work straight away.
(Providing it is connected to a dish that is properly fitted, set up, and tracking the arc)
It would take a customer about many hours to program a receiver (since there would be
unfamiliarity with the installation menu system). After programming, the channels are then organised
in a logical order. (This is what takes the most time.) We make sure the first channel on every
satellite is a clear free to air unscrambled channel. Channels are organised into a logical order.
e.g. Adult channels all together etc. Movie packages .. etc. Moving all of the channels into a
logical order can take days. This programming is ONLY Ł19.95 This service is entirely optional
but for mail order customers it can take a great deal of the worry and uncertainty out of a
purchase. The programmed receiver is supplied without dish positions to be used with any dish.
Only the positions and the limits need to be added. This is a 10 minute job. This option is
ideal if you are buying a full motorised system and you intend to fit it yourself.
This option helps a great deal. It also makes it easier to install a motorised dish as channels
already loaded can help identify the satellite if a budget satellite meter is being used. Detailed
installation notes written by us are included and we can talk you through the installation
over the phone if required. See our support package on our support page.
Our notes guide you through how to connect a programmed receiver, and setting the positions.
In addition, useful easy to follow notes on blind searching written by us are included for
future reference. For international orders, this option has one other worthwhile purpose.

Add a Triax 90cm TD88 fixed dish kit ideal for

6 degree kit

Please note that from the UK, 16E needs a 90cm dish.
This kit uses a 3 degree "monoblock" type fitting. The 3 degree monoblock fits a 40mm
feed support boss and so the block can be fitted with the 16E LNB prioritised
in the middle of the boom arm for maximum signal to the weaker satellite.
The "side kick" LNB can then be set for the stronger satellite of 13E or 19E.
Some companies sell this monoblock to fit a none standard 60mm clamp.
Most dishes do not have a 60mm clamp. If fitted in a 60mm clamp, the two LNBs
sit on either side of the boom arm and equal signal is received by each LNB.
This is not ideal as 16E needs more signal and should be prioritised. Therefore, our
40mm kit is better for this 16E application. The second satellite can be either Astra 1
or Hotbird depending on what side of the boom arm the second LNB is set to.

This kit is for multiple receivers.
The Triax 9 in 8 out mutiswitch allows up to 2 quatro LNBs on up to 2 satellites to be accessed
on up to 8 satellite receivers (or 4 twin tuner units) One of the inputs is an aerial input
and 8 inputs are for the 2 quatro LNBs. Other professional Triax multiswitches are available

Triax TD 80cm or 90cm dish with 2 quatro LNBs, Triax perfect fit rigid multi bracket, Triax 9
in and 8 out multiswitch, wall mount, instructions. Unlike flexible difficult to set up,
universal fit brackets, this is a dream to use as it is well engineered and designed by
Triax for their own TD dishes. The 80cm kit is ideal for Astra (19E ) and Hotbird (13E).
The 90cm option could be used for 28E and 19E, 13E and 28E, 23.5E and 28E, 23.5E and 13E,
28E and 16E etc. Indeed could also be used for many combinations of satellites.
